Platterpuss Limited Terms & conditions

Shopping Security and Payments (card details)

All credit & debit card transactions are processed by us manually in store when the goods are about to be dispatched and not at the time you place your order.

We do not charge for goods that are out of stock when ordered. We will run security checks using IP address verification systems. And we reserve the right not to deliver to a 3rd party address.

Security (on-line)

All checkout data is transferred from your computer to our server using 1024bit encryption. Which means your data is safe. Look for the padlock in your browser. Data collected on our website may be stored for future reference, including personal and card details in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. 

We only ask for information that is relevant to your order and we will not disclose any information to any other party not directly concerned with the sale.

Guarantees

Platterpuss Ltd. extend all manufacturer's guarantees to its own customers. In addition Platterpuss Ltd. also offers a comprehensive twelve month parts and labour guarantee on all products sold, other than consumables, cross-faders, budget microphones, cables, lamps and styli and any failure caused by misuse, short circuit or over running.

Guarantees may be exercised within twelve months of the original purchase date by returning the product to us, together with the original purchase receipt (or a photocopy). The guarantees are applicable whether the goods have been bought from the store, via mail order, on line or installed by Platterpuss Ltd. as part of a contract. Costs involved in calling an engineer out to site are always chargeable.

All guarantees are on a "Return to Base Warranty Basis" at the customer's expense both to and from us. Platterpuss Ltd. is not liable for any transportation costs although we can organise couriers on your behalf, which will be chargeable except items found to be faulty from new on receipt when we will cover the return costs.

Replacements

Any item found to be faulty from new from the box, which cannot immediately be rectified (i.e. by a simple change of fuse or by tightening a faulty connection, etc) shall be replaced with another brand new item (subject to availablility). In which case we will require notification in writing (fax or email is OK) within seven days from the day of purchase.

A replacement is conditional on the faulty product being returned to Platterpuss Ltd. in the original packaging and in the original condition in which it was sold including all cables, remote controls, instruction manuals, packaging, etc. If not, the product will be repaired under the conditions of the guarantee. Subject to the product meeting the above conditions we may, at our discretion, be able to offer an alternative choice of product to the same value. However this may only be possible if the item is a "Standard Stock Line" and not a specially ordered item.

Before offering a replacement, we reserve the right to physically ascertain that the product has not been misused or damaged by the user in any way.

If you need advice or are unsure on purchasing any product, please contact us before ordering to ensure the specification of a product is suitable for its intended use. Ultimately it is the sole responsibility of the customer to establish to their own satisfaction the specification and suitability of the product offered.

Returned items that were sourced on behalf of a customer at their specific request will not be accepted for return under any circumstances except where faulty.

In extreme circumstances and entirely at the discretion of Platterpuss Ltd. we may offer the facility for re-stocking with a deduction of a 15% handling charge and any carriage costs. Under no circumstances will re-stocking be sanctioned for any items which have clearly been used and are subsequently Grade B stock or less.

Non Warranty Repairs/Returns

Our in-house repairs carry a 90 day warranty. This warranty only covers the parts that were initially repaired and not any subsequent unrelated faults that develop or if the damage has been caused by later neglect or misuse.

Platterpuss Ltd. reserves the right to sell any non warranty repair item that has not been collected or paid for within 30 days of the customer being informed that the item/s are ready for collection. To enable us to recover costs of making the repairs.

Delivery

All orders placed for discs, whether on the phone or on-line are dispatched by Royal Mail 1st Class or Recorded Delivery. This usually takes 24-48 hours (if in stock). A signature will be required for Recorded Delivery. Please note Royal Mail do not guarantee delivery within 48 hours, so please allow up to 5 working days for delivery. If a disc is out of stock or no longer available we will let you know.

If a customer selects normal (uninsured) post for an item in our checkout and it is lost or damaged in transit, no liability whatsoever will be accepted by Platterpuss Ltd.

It is the responsibility of the customer to check deliveries and if they do not have time to do so, then they must sign as "unchecked". Platterpuss Ltd. is not liable if the customer has signed for the goods as being in "good condition".

Any shortages or damages must be notified on the phone within 24 hours of receipt and also in writing (fax or email is OK ), within 48 hours of receipt. We recommend that all discs be inspected on the day of receipt.

If you require your goods urgently, you can select a next day service in our checkout area. Items will be dispatched via courier or Royal Mail Silver Service (depending on your choice).

The silver service option is only for small items (upto 1.5KG) and cannot be used for larger shipments. If you need an item quickly it is always advisable to call us to arrange your purhase.

International, UK remote areas and Offshore Deliveries: Our checkout can only calculate shipping to UK mainland addresses and for small items to be sent internationally.

Offshore, Northern Ireland or International customers will be contacted with with details of any additional charges. For remote or hard to reach areas of the UK, UPS charge us an additional £15.00 above the shipping price calculated by the checkout, here are the postcodes of areas that this charge will apply to:

HS1 - HS9, IM, IV21-IV28, IV40-IV56, KA27-KA28, KW, PH, ZE, PA41, PA42-PA49, PA60-PA78, PA80-88, RE21-TR25.

Whilst Platterpuss Ltd. undertakes that every effort will be made to ensure that goods are delivered promptly. No liability will be accepted for delay in dispatch or delivery of the goods. We will only arrange carriage collection from a customer at no cost if we have delivered the wrong goods and the mistake is clearly our fault. For small items where we have delivered in error, we request that the customer returns the package to us via recorded delivery, the expense for which shall be re-credited.

Payment and Title

Payment terms - All major credit and debit cards are accepted as well as bank drafts, cheques, cash, Paypal or direct bank transfers by prior agreement. We are unable to accept Postal Orders!

For in-store purchases we will of course also accept cash. For in-store sales a valid cheque guarantee card must support cheques. If the cheque exceeds the guarantee card limit or it has been sent to us in the post, it must be cleared before the goods can be taken away or delivered. This can take 7 -10 working days. If you wish the cheque may be express cleared (3 working days) for an extra cost of £20.

We can not be said to have entered a contract to supply an item from any of our online stores until we have accepted payment and confirmed your order.

Ownership and title in all goods taken from or delivered by Platterpuss Ltd. shall only pass to the customer when full payment has been received and cleared to the Platterpuss Ltd. bank account

Responsibility for the risk or safety of the said goods shall be that of the customer from the time of possession. In the case of goods not being paid for as agreed Platterpuss Ltd. reserve the right to take possession of the goods concerned, with the co-operation and at the expense of the customer. Whenever monies are overdue to Platterpuss Ltd., interest shall be chargeable at the rate of 2% above the bank rate per calendar month from the date payment was due.

VAT

Please note that our site shows all prices inclusive of VAT. Customers from countries where VAT is not applicable will not be charged VAT at the time of their order unless the order is being sent to an UK or EU address.

Liability

Platterpuss Ltd. will not be held liable for any loss of earnings or third party claims due to late delivery or failure of the product supplied. The customer shall be responsible for ensuring adequate backup facilities are available should a product fail at any time.

Platterpuss Ltd. will not be held liable for damage or injury caused by products supplied by Platterpuss Ltd., which are misused or incorrectly installed.

Returns

If you wish to return any item, you have up to 7 days from receiving your order to return it for a refund. All returned items must be unopened, unused & in the original packaging. This does not apply to consumables such as lamps, leads, discs etc. If items arrive back ‘not as new’ then a full refund will not be given.

Ensure the items are sufficiently packaged (within an outer carton with packaging for protection) and return the goods back to us enclosing a copy of the original receipt with a note confirming that you are returning the goods within 7 days. Dependant upon the condition of the returned product, we will then issue a credit (less a surcharge to cover our delivery, packaging and administration costs).

Karaoke Discs

When ordering Karaoke discs, please note that these are designed for Karaoke and not as backing tracks for solo artists or auditions etc.

All Karaoke tracks are professional remakes i.e. 'recorded in the style of the original' and many of the tracks do contain backing vocals and most will fade out unless stated

Any track recorded in a key or style that doesn't suit you is not a valid reason for return. Please note all Karaoke disc sales are final. If you are not sure as to the type of discs your player reads, please call first for advice or see the FAQ section

Statutory Rights

Your statutory rights are not affected in any way by the terms and conditions stated or implied.
